Turning the inactive kiosk into an interactive installation, the music performances mark the opening of the A-Letheia project developed by the artist from within of aneducation of documenta 14 and gradually unfolding throughout the summer.
Taking John Coltrane’s 1960’s piece Giant Steps as a starting point for improvising together, the performance was inviting visitors, residents and passers by to investigate chromatic chords relations in music using modular synthesizers. The unfolding social event, live performance and installation has explored sounds, voices, stories and images populating Iroon Square at the moment. Gradually building the composition throughout the three days has addressed the potential to synthesise dynamic modes of improvisation and to transgress the expectations of what the A-Letheia project has to be in favour of what it can become through collective composition.
